Tabana, the wild Mango Tree.

From the Iraqw people of Tanzania.

The tree and its roots reflect our connection to and passion for, Tanzania's incredible nature and the African bush.

Welcome to Tabana Safaris!

Our company was born from a shared passion for the nature and wildlife of Africa — and from a friendship that began in 2024.

My family and I first met Vincent during an unforgettable safari through the beautiful national parks of Tanzania. It was an amazing experience, but as always, coming home brought that familiar feeling: I was already missing Africa again.

For years, I had dreamed of having a closer connection with the African bush. We live in the Netherlands, and moving from the busy surroundings of Amsterdam to the quieter and beautiful forests of the Veluwe helped a little. But once you have caught the African bug, it never really goes away…

In 2025, we returned to Tanzania, this time with my parents joining us. Once again, Vincent made the trip an unforgettable adventure. During the months that followed, Vincent and I stayed in close contact. Somewhere along the way, our conversations slowly turned into a shared dream: what if we started our own little safari company?

After many conversations, ideas and plans, we decided to go for it.

Tabana Safaris was born.

Our goal is simple: to share our love for Tanzania, its incredible wildlife and the African bush with you. We want to create safaris that are not just about seeing animals, but about experiencing Africa — its nature, its people, its landscapes and those unforgettable moments that stay with you long after you return home.

With Tabana Safaris, we hope to pass on that passion and give you the opportunity to experience Tanzania the way we love it ourselves.

Frank

For me, Tabana Safaris is more than a safari company. It is a way of sharing the Tanzania I know and love with people from around the world.

I grew up in Tanzania, surrounded by the landscapes, wildlife and communities that make this country so special. Over the years, guiding has given me the opportunity to explore many parts of Tanzania and, most importantly, to meet people from different countries and share experiences with them.

When I first met Frank and his family in 2024, I could see how deeply they connected with Tanzania. Their curiosity, enthusiasm and genuine love for nature made our time together special. When they returned in 2025, that friendship had grown even stronger.

Our conversations eventually became a shared vision. Frank brought his passion for Africa and his perspective as a traveller, while I brought my experience of Tanzania, guiding and the places I call home.

Together, we wanted to create something personal — a safari company built around genuine experiences, good communication and a real connection between our guests and Tanzania.

That is what Tabana Safaris means to me.

It is about welcoming people to Tanzania, sharing the beauty of our country, telling the stories behind the wildlife and landscapes, and creating memories that our guests will carry home with them.

I am proud to be part of this journey with Frank, and I look forward to welcoming you to Tanzania and showing you the Africa that I love.

Karibu Tanzania — welcome to Tanzania.
